Grudavatnet is a nutrient-rich lake on Jæren where the Figgjoelva pauses on its course, and in 1974 it became the first wetland in Rogaland to be protected as a nature reserve. Thousands of ducks stop over here in autumn, winter and spring, and the lake is known for regular sightings of rarer waders. A trail from Vasshus school at Orre leads southwards to a birdwatching tower at the edge of the woods.
