A brackish-water delta where the river Lierelva flows out into Drammensfjorden, protected in 1985 and extended in 2007 to its present 593 decares. The reserve is regarded as one of the most species-rich wetland areas in Buskerud, with around 210-227 bird species recorded over the years and over 140 species annually; a bird tower from 1995 gives views over the river mouth.
