Norway's largest pristine river delta and a Ramsar wetland since 2002, formed where the Tanaelva flows into the Tanafjorden in eastern Finnmark. Among the birds recorded here are 19 duck species, 5 goose species, 22 wader species and 14 gull species. The delta is especially important as a moulting site for Goosander - up to 27,000 males gather here after the breeding season before migrating further south.
