Værlandet and Bulandet are the westernmost inhabited islands in Norway, at the outer edge of Askvoll municipality, and one of the coast's most exciting sites for observing migrating birds away from the great seabird cliffs. Over 230 species have been recorded on the islands, and September-October brings a large passage of Barnacle Geese on their way from Svalbard to Scotland, along with regular rarities.
