The Eurasian Reed Warbler builds an elaborate, deep and cylindrical nest that is woven fast between several reed stems just above the water surface. The clutch usually comprises 3–5 eggs. The species is a very common host for the Common Cuckoo, and in reed lakes with Reed Warblers the cuckoo often lays its eggs in Reed Warbler nests, after which the Reed Warbler goes on to feed the far larger cuckoo chick.
