The Manx Shearwater breeds in colonies on Atlantic islands, where the pair digs or uses a burrow. The female lays a single egg, and the chick is fed over a long period before it leaves the nest. As the species does not breed in Sweden, the birds seen here are only migrating or foraging at sea.
