The Northern Gannet does not breed in Sweden. In the large Atlantic colonies the pair lay a single egg, and the colonies can hold thousands to tens of thousands of pairs densely packed on steep cliffs and islands. Outside the breeding season the bird lives pelagically, that is, out on the open sea.
