Parrot Crossbill: Breeding

The Parrot Crossbill breeds very flexibly and can begin breeding as early as late winter, if the supply of pine seeds is good. The nest is placed high in a pine, and the female normally lays 3–4 eggs. The timing is governed entirely by the seed crop rather than by the season.
