Alarm call at the nest: a repeated hard “kja-kja-kja-kja” or “kek-kek-kek” — often heard when people approach the breeding cliffs.
Contact call between partners: a softer mewing “ee-tjip”.
Begging call from the young: a whining whistle reminiscent of young Jackdaws.
