Ekopark Böda (Böda kronopark) is a large, unbroken pine-forest landscape in northern Öland, managed by Sveaskog. Golden Eagle is seen regularly along the open parts of the forest and Honey Buzzard in May. Capercaillie and Black Grouse breed, and Nightjar can be heard and seen at dusk on summer nights. Forestry is carried out in parts of the ecopark; about 59% of the productive forest land is set aside for nature conservation, and smaller areas (e.g. Vargeslätt) are formal nature reserves.
