Birdwatching at Fiby urskog, Sweden

Fiby urskog is one of Uppland's best-preserved fragments of virgin forest, with old pines and spruces. Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker can be seen in the dead trees, and Boreal Owl and Ural Owl breed here. The county administrative board has closed the trail and advises against visiting because of spruce bark beetle damage — dead spruces may fall without warning.
