The Klarälven river flows through Karlstad and offers urban birdwatching in a fine river setting. Grey Wagtail can be seen along the river, and White-tailed Eagle regularly along the river valley. Common Kingfisher is observed in the calmer stretches, and Grey Heron fishes in the shallow watercourses.
