The narrowest part of Öland acts as a natural funnel for millions of birds during the spring and autumn migration. Northern Wheatear, Red-backed Shrike and Common Redstart are typical passerines that stop over here, while raptors such as European Honey Buzzard and Common Buzzard pass through in large numbers in autumn.
