The Barred Warbler's song is a rapid, choppy and fairly powerful twitter, often with hard, shrike-like notes and rough passages. The song is sometimes delivered during a short song-flight. The robust voice and the rasping elements distinguish it from the softer warblers. In dense vegetation the bird is usually revealed precisely by its call.
