Black Kite: Diet

The Black Kite is a versatile omnivore and opportunist. It lives largely on carrion and refuse but also takes fish — preferably dead or dying fish picked from the water surface — as well as small rodents, nestlings, frogs and large insects. It often forages at lakes, watercourses and refuse sites.
