Bluethroat: Song & calls

The Bluethroat's song ranks among the most beautiful in the mountains — rich, clear and varied, and packed with skilful imitations of other birds. It is often delivered from a low birch or willow bush above wet ground, and is heard most during the light mountain night. The contact call is a sharp, smacking "tak-tak" together with a whistling "huid".
