Bohemian Waxwing: Nest & eggs
Most people never get to see the Bohemian Waxwing breed — it nests in the northern coniferous forest, not across most of the country.
- Location: a cup nest of twigs, lichen and moss, often near the top of a spruce in the taiga of northern Sweden.
- Clutch: around 5 eggs.
- Summer food: during breeding it lives largely on insects that it skilfully catches on the wing — a sharp contrast to the winter berry diet.
The species does not use nest boxes.
