Brant Goose: Breeding

The Brent Goose does not breed in Sweden but only far away on the Arctic tundra. There it builds a nest on the ground, often in loose colonies near the coast, and breeding is heavily dependent on the short Arctic summer weather. Good breeding years, when the tundra is snow-free early, show up later as high proportions of juveniles in the resting flocks.
