The Common Reed Bunting nests on the ground or very low in dense vegetation, well hidden in reeds, sedge or scrub near water. The clutch usually comprises 4–5 eggs, and both parents take part in feeding the young. When disturbed near the nest, the adult birds often perform distraction displays to lure predators away.
