Dunnock: Diet

  • Insects and spiders (summer): ants, butterfly and moth larvae, small beetles — picked from the ground or bushes.
  • Earthworms and small snails.
  • Seeds and berries (autumn–winter): rosehips, raspberries, small weed seeds.
  • At the bird table: rolled oats, small seeds, crumbs — picked up beneath the feeders rather than on them.
