The Icterine Warbler breeds in deciduous-dominated habitats with dense scrub, such as broadleaved woodland, parks and gardens. The nest is a neat, fairly deep cup placed in a deciduous bush or a low tree branch. The female usually lays 4–5 eggs, which are incubated for about two weeks. Both parents take part in feeding the young.
