The Little Stint does not breed in Sweden. On the Arctic tundra it lays its eggs in a shallow scrape on the ground, well camouflaged among low-growing vegetation. The species has an unusual breeding system in which the female can lay two clutches in quick succession — the first is incubated by the male and the second by the female herself. The short Arctic summer window makes breeding intense and compressed in time.
