The Oriental Turtle Dove does not breed in Sweden. Within its regular range in Siberia and eastern Asia it builds a simple, flimsy stick platform in a tree or bush, in the same way as many other doves. The clutch normally comprises two eggs, and, as in its relatives, the young are fed during the first days on nutritious crop milk produced by both parents. The eastern populations are long-distance migrants that head south to wintering grounds in southern Asia.
