Spotted Flycatcher: Song & calls

The calls are as unobtrusive as the plumage. Most often heard is a thin, sharp "tsett" or "ist" as well as short clicking sounds. The song is simple and faint, a sparse series of thin, grating notes that is easily overlooked. Its unremarkable voice means the species is often detected by its behaviour rather than its call.
