The Taiga Bean Goose breeds on mires and by forest tarns in northern Sweden. The nest is placed on the ground, well hidden in the vegetation, and the clutch usually comprises 4–6 eggs. The female incubates while the male stands guard nearby, and the family stays together long after the young have fledged, often throughout the migration and the winter.
