The White Stork builds a very large and sturdy nest of branches and twigs, often placed on rooftops, chimneys, poles or specially erected nesting platforms. The same nest is used and added to year after year and can eventually become very bulky. The female normally lays 3–5 eggs, and both parents share the incubation, which lasts a good month. The young are fed by the parents in the nest for several weeks before they fledge.
