Storsjön is Jämtland's great lake and surrounds the town of Östersund. Grey Heron can be seen regularly along the shores, and Whooper Swan stops over during the spring migration. White-tailed Eagle can be seen over the lake's open stretches, and Black-throated Loon breeds in secluded bays.
