Common Pheasant: Diet

The Common Pheasant is an omnivore and its diet varies with the season. In spring and summer it takes plenty of insects, larvae and earthworms, which is especially important for the chicks. In autumn and winter, plant-based fare such as seeds, spilt grain, green shoots, berries and roots predominates. Pheasants readily visit game crops and feeding stations in winter.
