Eurasian Collared Dove: Nest & eggs
The Eurasian Collared Dove nests close to people and places its nest in trees and bushes in built-up, leafy settings.
- Nest site: a sparse, thin platform of twigs in a dense hedge, a bush or a tree, preferably in suburban gardens and parks.
- Height: often a few metres up in the greenery, near houses and preferably close to bird tables and other food sources.
- Season: 2 white eggs per brood and several broods during a long breeding season that stretches from late winter to autumn.
The simple twig platform is built quickly and the pair may return to the same garden season after season.
