The Hooded Crow is largely resident in southern Sweden.
South: the birds are mostly sedentary and hold territory all year round.
North and east: northern populations are partly short-distance migrants and move south.
No long passages: the species makes no true long-distance migrations.
Winter visitors: crows from Finland and the Baltic states move west and winter in Sweden, so although the Swedish crows mostly stay put, part of the winter population is replaced by incoming birds from the east.
