The nest is built well hidden on the ground, often tucked into a tuft of grass or beneath a bush. The female usually lays 4–5 eggs, which are incubated for around 13 days. The young are fed by both parents and leave the nest after just over two weeks, often before they are fully fledged. The species can manage two broods during a favourable summer.
