The Taiga Bean Goose breeds on bogs and by forest pools in the northern taiga. The nest is placed on the ground, well concealed in the vegetation near water, and the clutch usually comprises 4–6 eggs. The female incubates while the male keeps guard nearby, and the family stays together long after the young have fledged – often all the way through migration and winter.
