The Trumpeter Finch does not breed in Sweden. Within its regular range it builds a simple cup-shaped nest well sheltered among stones, in rock crevices or under low vegetation. Breeding is adapted to the unpredictable conditions of arid habitats and can begin quickly when the supply of seeds and water is good.
