Eurasian Pygmy Owl: Diet

The Eurasian Pygmy Owl is an effective predator despite its size: - Small birds (50–70% of the diet): tits, kinglets, Common Chaffinch, treecreepers — struck in the branchwork at high speed. - Voles and mice — hunted on the ground. - Winter store: stores up to 30–50 dead prey items in woodpecker holes and bark crevices as winter provisions.
