Eurasian Tree Sparrow: Nest & eggs
The Eurasian Tree Sparrow is a cavity nester that readily takes to nest boxes.
- Nest site: hollow trees, wall crevices, gaps in facades and nest boxes, often in loosely knit colonies.
- Construction: a messy, bulky nest of straw, rootlets and feathers packed into the cavity.
- Broods: 4-6 eggs and often 2-3 broods a season, making it a productive breeder.
