European Greenfinch: Nest & eggs
The European Greenfinch is an open nester that does not use nest boxes.
- Nest site: in a dense bush, hedge or young conifer, 1-5 metres up, often in loosely knit groups.
- Construction: the female builds a fairly bulky cup nest of twigs, moss and roots, lined with hair and fine stems.
- Broods: 4-6 eggs and usually two broods a season.
