European Pied Flycatcher: Diet

The diet consists almost entirely of insects. Despite the name, it does not only snatch prey in the air — it just as often gleans larvae, beetles and spiders from leaves and twigs, and also takes insects on the ground. In late summer, berries may form part of the diet.
