Red Kite: Song & calls

The Red Kite has a characteristic, somewhat wistful whistling call often rendered as a drawn-out “pjeeiii” followed by shorter, falling and trilling notes. The call is heard above all in the breeding territories during spring and early summer, often from birds soaring high over the landscape.
