Coal Tit: Breeding

The Coal Tit breeds in cavities — in tree holes, nest boxes or even in abandoned mouse and vole holes in the ground. The female lays a large clutch of normally 7–11 eggs. This small tit is an eager cavity nester that makes use of whatever nest sites are available.
