Breeding season: March–July, up to three broods per season. - Nest: built by the female in a bush or hedge. An outer layer of grass and twigs, a middle layer of mud, and softest grass innermost. - Eggs: 3–5, blue-green with red-brown spots. Incubated for 13–14 days by the female. - Young: leave the nest after 13–14 days; they are fed for a further 3 weeks.
