Where: many Swedish Wood Pigeons migrate south and west to Western Europe, above all to France and the Iberian Peninsula.
Visible passage: the autumn pigeon migration can be very heavy along the coasts, with the movement taking place in large day-migrating flocks during September and October.
Change: the proportion that stays has increased markedly over recent decades, in step with milder winters and the rich food supply in towns and farmland.
