Eurasian Blue Tit: Diet

  • Spring and summer: insects and larvae (chiefly aphids and butterfly and moth caterpillars) — critical for the young.
  • Autumn and winter: seeds, nuts and suet. It loves sunflower seeds and peanut butter at the bird table.

The Blue Tit is renowned for its acrobatics: it hangs upside down on twigs and fat balls and reaches food that competitors cannot get at.
