Eurasian Blue Tit: Song & calls

The Blue Tit is one of the most diligent singers among the tits and begins to sing in January during mild winters.

  • Song: a trilling "tsi-tsi-tsi-hu-hu-hu" — rapid and falling. The pitch varies with temperature and time of day.
  • Contact call: a sharp "tsee" or "tsi-tsi".
  • Alarm call: a rasping "churr" when a predator is nearby.

Recordings can be found on xeno-canto and on the taxon page of Artportalen (the Swedish species observation system).
