Eurasian Blue Tit: In winter

The Blue Tit is a resident that stays in Sweden all winter.

• Flocks: it moves about in roving flocks together with Great Tit, Willow Tit and Treecreeper.
• Food: a frequent visitor to the bird table — sunflower seeds, suet and peanuts, which it often hangs beneath acrobatically.
• Roosting: it creeps into cavities and nest boxes for shelter from the cold.
• Survival: hard winters hit small birds hard, and supplementary feeding raises winter survival appreciably.
