The Eurasian Bullfinch is largely a resident bird, but with an element of irruptive movement.
Southern birds: are mostly sedentary and hold territories year-round.
Northern birds: the large nominate race (P. p. pyrrhula), sometimes called the "trumpeting bullfinch", moves south in some winters in irruption-like movements.
No long-distance passage: the bullfinch lacks the regular long migrations that true migrants make.
