Eurasian Bullfinch: Nest & eggs
The Eurasian Bullfinch is an open nester that does not use nest boxes.
- Nest site: well hidden in a dense spruce or juniper bush, 1–3 metres up.
- Construction: the female builds a platform of thin twigs with a shallow cup of lichens and fine roots.
- Broods: 4–5 eggs, usually 1–2 broods per season. The species is discreet and hard to detect at the nest.
