The Osprey builds a large stick nest, preferably in the top of a thick, free-standing pine near water, or on artificial nest platforms erected to benefit the species. The same nest is used and added to over many years. The female usually lays 2–3 eggs, which are incubated for about 37–41 days. The young fledge after around eight weeks but continue to depend on their parents' fishing for a while afterwards.
