Breeding season: May–July, normally 1–2 broods per season. - Nest: an elegant little cup nest in the outer branches of a broadleaf or fruit tree, 2–5 m up. Built by the female from plant down and moss. - Eggs: 4–6, pale blue-white with red spots. Incubated 12–14 days by the female. - Young: fed on seeds and insects by both parents. Fledge after 13–16 days.
