Since the House Sparrow has lost natural nest cavities in modern buildings, a nest box does real good.
| Measurement | Value | |---|---| | Entrance hole | approx. 32 mm | | Internal floor | approx. 12 × 12 cm | | Placement | high on a wall, under an eave or in a facade |
Since the species is a colonial nester, a sparrow terrace (a box with several compartments) works particularly well.
Put the box up near buildings and open ground where the species already moves about.
