European Robin: Migration

The European Robin is a short-distance migrant.

  • Where: most Swedish European Robins migrate to Western Europe and the Mediterranean region.
  • When: migration takes place in September–October, returning in March–April, and some travel at night.
  • Variation: while Swedish European Robins are migrants, the British ones are largely residents — a well-known difference within the species.
